Approaching Karl XII-øya

Karl XII-øya: a small island (about 2 km long) in the northern part of Svalbard. Named after Charles XII, king of Sweden (1697 - 1718). Except for Sjuøyane (Seven Islands), Karl XII-øya is the northernmost part of Svalbard just about 1080 km from the North pole.
